Residents of Bodo City Community in Gokana LGA, in Rivers State Nigeria, staged another peaceful and rather ‘aggressive‘ protest against Shell Plc over recent oil spills, environmental damages in the Community.
A Pipeline belonging to Shell Plc Company was found leaking on Wednesday 24th of August 2022 leading to spillage and since then little or nothing has been done to put a stop to the situation. Making it the third case in just a month.
Bodo City has suffered three spillages in the month of August, and Shell has been accused of several cases of Equipment failure and huge damages.
Residents now calling on Shell Plc. to do the right thing by settling the Community.
